2024 Wagoneer Trim Levels

For 2024, the Wagoneer is offered in four trim levels: base Wagoneer, Series II, Carbide, and Series III. You also have a choice of the standard-length vehicle or the Wagoneer L, which is 12 inches longer and adds more cargo space. Each model features bold front-end styling, a distinctive seven-slot grille, a sleek and dominant profile, and a stylish rear end.

How Much Can a Jeep Wagoneer Tow?

With rear-wheel drive, the Wagoneer has a standard Class IV hitch receiver and offers a base towing capacity of up to 6,130 pounds when properly equipped, while four-wheel-drive models can tow up to 5,980 pounds. As standard, the bigger Wagoneer L with rear-wheel drive can tow up to 5,990 pounds, which is reduced to 5,750 pounds with the addition of four-wheel drive.

An available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package equips the Wagoneer with a beefier 3.92 rear axle ratio, an electronic rear limited-slip differential that helps optimize traction in slippery conditions and for off-road driving, enhanced engine cooling, and an integrated trailer brake control that enables you to bring the trailer to a full stop using your vehicle’s brakes. You also get Trailer Hitch Zoom for precise hitch alignment. When you opt for this package, the Wagoneer’s maximum towing capacity is increased to a class-leading 10,000 pounds.

Can a Wagoneer Tow a Camper?

Even with the standard towing capacity, the Wagoneer is a competent vehicle. You can haul toys like canoes, kayaks, jet skis, a motorcycle, or a small fishing boat. Regarding campers, the Wagoneer can handle an A-frame camper, a pop-up camper, or a small travel trailer. With the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, you can tow more giant toys or a larger travel trailer.

 It’s important to remember that your Wagoneer’s actual towing capacity depends on several factors. The gross combined weight rating shows the maximum allowable combined weight of the towing vehicle, trailer, passengers, and cargo. For a camper, you need to consider the weight of total water tanks, propane tanks, bedding, food, camping chairs, and anything else you load into the trailer. Generous Passenger and Cargo Space

The Wagoneer’s luxurious cabin seats up to eight people with the second-row bench or seven with the available captain’s chairs. Access to the third row is easy with the power tip and slide second-row seats. An available power-folding and reclining third row folds into the cargo floor at the touch of a button making it easy to increase the cargo area.

With a full passenger load, you have 27.4 cubic feet of space for your gear behind the third-row seats, while folding down the second and third rows gives you up to 116.7 cubic feet of cargo space. In the Wagoneer L you get 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space with all rear seats upright or a cavernous 130.9 cubic feet with them folded.

The standard cargo net and tie-downs help keep your gear secure. Consoles, cubbies, and cup holders throughout the cabin provide plenty of storage for smaller items and drinks. Access to the cargo area is easy even with your hands full, thanks to the standard hands-free power liftgate.

Interior Comfort and Amenities

Inside, the Wagoneer envelops you in luxury appointments and offers enhanced technology features that make any road trip a pleasure. As standard, you’ll find leather upholstery, heated and ventilated 12-way power-adjustable front seats, driver seat memory, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic temperature control, and power-adjustable pedals.

Technology features include keyless entry and start, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 115-volt power outlet. Wagoneer Power and Performance

The power of the Hurricane twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine enables the superb Jeep Wagoneer hauling capabilities. It delivers 420 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque via a seamlessly shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. Most trims come standard with rear-wheel drive or the option of four-wheel drive, while Series III is only available in four-wheel drive.

You can choose from two outstanding four-wheel-drive systems, the Quadra-Trac I or the automatic Quadra-Drive II system.  The Quadra-Trac I is always engaged and features the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System that includes settings for Auto, Sand or Mud, Snow, and Sport, so you can drive confidently in any conditions. The available air suspension system gives the Wagoneer 3.6 inches of suspension travel and 10 inches of ground clearance.

With rear-wheel drive, the Wagoneer returns up to 17 mpg around Cortlandt town and 24 mpg when you head out on the highway. Four-wheel-drive models give you up to 16 and 23 mpg for city and highway driving, respectively. When towing a trailer, the extra weight will reduce the gas mileage.
