There’s something patriotic about something that just won’t quit. If you’re an American, you get that. Our history is full of non-quitters. Take a minivan, for example, owned by past Delaware Governor, now U.S. Senator, Tom Carper.
Senator Carper has driven the same #ChryslerMinivan since 2001. While he was Governor, the state provided him with a Town & Country minivan that members of his team would drive him around the state in. He liked it so much that when he became a Senator, he went out and bought his own Chrysler minivan. Since that time, Senator Carper has put 437,000 miles on that minivan he bought in 2001.
There have been milestones during that time. When his minivan reached 400,000 miles, a great celebration was had at the dealership that kept it on the road for all those miles. All of the mechanics and drivers were there to share in the cake formed like his minivan, as well as share the excitement.
A Washington politico who knows the value of every dime, dollar and mile he spends in a waking day. Partnered with a Chrysler minivan that he manages to drive for over 437,000 miles. How did he do it?
Having profesional Chrysler service technicians provide regular maintenance. Carper attributes the longevity of his van to changing the oil and providing regular service, as well as taking it to the car wash every other week.
“If you take care of something, whether it’s a car or a house or even a family, it’s amazing how long they can have a good, long run,” says Senator Carper. He aims to drive his Chrysler minivan for 500,000 miles.
